X-2 X Men United

Released : 01 MAY 2003

Stryker (Brian Cox), a villainous former Army commander, holds the key to Wolverine’s (Hugh Jackman) past and the future of the X-Men. This threat reignites the call for a mutant registration act, and Stryker mounts a full-out assault on Professor Xavier’s (Patrick Stewart) mansion and school. After escaping his plastic cell, Magneto (Ian McKellen) proposes a partnership with Professor Xavier and the X-Men, in a bid to combat this new, formidable enemy that they now have in common.

An assassination attempt on the president of the United States, by a mutant named Nightcrawler, sparks fears of the meta-humans. This triggers an assault on Professor Xavier’s school for mutants, causing the X-Men to retreat into hiding.

Meanwhile, a scientist and religious fanatic named William Stryker plans to annihilate all meta-humans. He kidnaps Professor Xavier in a plot to use the ‘Cerebro’, a mutant-identifying device, to locate all mutants across the globe and destroy them. This leaves the X-Men with no choice but to team up with their enemy Magneto, in a temporary alliance. But will they stop Stryker before it’s too late?
